AWARDS
All entrants are welcome to compete in multiple categories. The following is an overview of awards to be presented at the 2010 Topanga Film Festival. Other prizes may also be awarded from our in-kind sponsors
- Coveted Coyote Award (sponsored by Panavision) | Jury Award for Best Director/Film
- Panavision Young Filmmaker Award | Jury Award for Best Director/Film
- Dreamago | Jury Award for Best Screenplay based on competing short films. Value of award — a screenwriting retreat to the Swiss Alps — is valued at $10,000.
- Suitable for All Screens Jury Award | The Topanga Film Festival 2010 jury will select one modular, trans-format entry from the top ten internet-rated entries. The jury-selected winner will receive video equipment, lighting and other goods and services sufficient to create a feature-length film or documentary coupled with year-long tracking on Topanga Film Festival web site and world premier at 2011 festival. (See Disclaimer below)
- Best Actor | Jury Award for best male, female or transgender performance
- Diamond in the Rough | Jury Award for best upcoming content
Disclaimer: The Topanga Film Festival reserves the right to substitute the Suitable for All Screens Jury Award “production package” for a lesser prize in the event that less than one hundred (100) short films or documentaries participate in the Suitable for All Screens competition. The “production package” will consist of gratuitious use by the Jury Award-winning filmmaker of: (a) a camera package consisting of one camera and corresponding lenses and equipment (exact contents of package are yet to be determined); (b) a sound package (contents yet to be determined): (c) a post-production package sufficient to complete non-linear digital and sound editing of a feature-length film or documentary (with exact specifics yet to be determined). It is contemplated that either 35mm, 16mm and/or digital stock may be a part of this package.
