AWARDS

All entrants are wel­come to com­pete in mul­ti­ple cat­e­gories. The fol­low­ing is an overview of awards to be pre­sented at the 2010 Topanga Film Fes­ti­val. Other prizes may also be awarded from our in-kind sponsors EVS, Final Draft, Logitech and Showbiz Cafe — and others as they sign on. Please refer to the sub­mis­sion guide­lines for com­pe­ti­tion specifications.

  • Cov­eted Coy­ote Award (spon­sored by Panav­i­sion) | Jury Award for Best Director/Film
  • Panavision Young Filmmaker Award | Jury Award for Best Director/Film
  • Drea­m­ago | Jury Award for Best Screenplay based on competing short films. Value of award — a screenwriting retreat to the Swiss Alps — is valued at $10,000.
  • Suit­able for All Screens Jury Award | The Topanga Film Fes­ti­val 2010 jury will select one mod­u­lar, trans-format entry from the top ten internet-rated entries. The jury-selected win­ner will receive video equipment, lighting and other goods and services sufficient to create a feature-length film or documentary coupled with year-long track­ing on Topanga Film Fes­ti­val web site and world pre­mier at 2011 festival.  (See Disclaimer below)
  • Best Actor | Jury Award for best male, female or trans­gen­der performance
  • Dia­mond in the Rough | Jury Award for best upcom­ing content

Disclaimer: The Topanga Film Festival reserves the right to substitute the Suitable for All Screens Jury Award “production package” for a lesser prize in the event that less than one hundred (100) short films or documentaries participate in the Suitable for All Screens competition. The “production package” will consist of gratuitious use by the Jury Award-winning filmmaker of: (a) a camera package consisting of one camera and corresponding lenses and equipment (exact contents of package are yet to be determined); (b) a sound package (contents yet to be determined): (c) a post-production package sufficient to complete non-linear digital and sound editing of a feature-length film or documentary (with exact specifics yet to be determined).  It is contemplated that either 35mm, 16mm and/or digital stock may be a part of this package.
