Topanga Film Festival toppers to judge multimedia contest
Topanga Film Festival’s newest staffer, Milena Merrill, a professional journalist and filmmaker, was tapped by the Southeastern Journalism Conference to judge a brand new competition category for the 23-year old conference — Best Multimedia Journalist — during this year’s event to be held in South Louisiana from February 11-13, 2010. Joining Milena in selecting the conference’s top multimedia journalist are Topanga Film Festival founders and award-winning documentarians Sara and Urs Baur.
Students must include a minimum of three formats used by a student journalist to cover a single story. For example, the story may have been covered as a print story, with an online slides how with voice-over, and a blog written to explain the behind-the-scenes work that went into covering the story. Multimedia formats that may be submitted include still images, written text, audio and video, and/or social media coverage (such as a Twitter stream from a breaking news event). The submission should be housed as live links, with URL(s) provided to the judges (or, if no longer available online, presented on a CD or DVD).
The Southeastern Journalism Conference, with Dr. Amber Narro at the helm of the 2010 event, is committed to encourage greater interest in student journalism and to create closer ties among journalism schools in the Southeast United States.

Congratulations on being selected to be a judge. And also I think you did a great job of editing my little interview about Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School. Cool style.
