Topanga Film Festival has appointed itself as the canyon’s cultural ambassador to the world, taking a curated best of fest on the road throughout North America and a handful of European cities. In conjunction with the newly created Topanga Film Institute, organizers are finalizing a first round of screenings to be announced shortly.

The filmic voice of the canyon is small, yet big in scope. Last year’s fest headliner What About Me has garnered global attention with its message of unity through the common language of music and is indicative of the kind of content to expect from this community’s filmmakers and the 2010 slate of films and format-agnostic digital works. In part, the tour was designed to build awareness of the festival’s dedication to scalable modular suitable-for-all-screens content that defies the 1-1/2 hour traditional feature film format.

The Topanga Film Festival and Institute envision theatrically four-walling not only the best of fest tour, but in creating events within events to include networking opportunities set to the backdrop of live music events. A number of community and sponsorship alliances in support of the traveling festival tour are underway and will be announced in conjunction with a tour schedule early this spring.
